Payroll Support Specialist 181659

Functional Title: Payroll Support Specialist

PAY: $18.00 to 26.00 per hour (Depends On

Experience

)

Shift: 1st Shift

Contract: The position is an ongoing W2 contract.

Hiring Bonus: $2000.00

The Hiring Bonus is broken down as follows:

You will receive $500 on the 1st paycheck

$500 at 60 days

$500 at 90 days

$500 at 180 days

Interview Type: Per manager s request. An in person interview may be required. (No travel expense offered by client for in person interview. No relocation offered)

Must Have:

(1) Payroll experience (specifically leave experience) preferable with 1,000+ employees

(2) Excel (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP)

(3) Organization, and the ability to prioritize (specifically the ability to recognize errors, analytical mindset)

(4) Year-end experience; basic reviews to the yearend W2 process- i.e., checking addresses for accuracy, understanding FED and State wages follow the same rules (typically) knowing that a W-2 Social Security wages would not be above the limits, 401k limits, etc., and how they apply to the W2.

: military, leave, STD, FMLA, Worker's comp documentation, Points policy experience, Payroll teams supports the plants payroll (team of 3 for day to day activities).

Biweekly payroll and off cycles on the other weeks.


* Must be detailed oriented and deadline driven (must understand the criticality of payroll accuracy)

Nice to have:

SAP not required, soft skills for a detail oriented multitasker, and continuous improvement

Position Scope:

Performs administrative and clerical duties involved with producing a bi-weekly domestic payroll and administrative support of monthly international payroll as needed. Functions are performed under payroll deadlines and quality standards.

Position Responsibilities

  • Supports Plant Spartanburg Time Administrators and Supervisors in ensuring time sheet accuracy as an input to the bi-weekly payroll.
  • Monitors pay issues for Short Term Disability, Military, Jury Duty, Funeral, Bereavement, etc. and takes appropriate action as needed.
  • Utilizes technology such as artificial intelligence, process automation tools, or data analytics to improve payroll efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Performs scheduled payroll audits to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll.
  • Ensures associate direct deposits are accurate and timely with financial institutions.
  • Provides customer service to associates with Payroll questions and Payroll related policy questions.
  • Supports new hire Associate orientation and ensures the entry paperwork is completed accurately, timely and within Federal regulations.
  • Provides data to third party organizations including State and County Courts, Federal and State Tax Authorities.
  • Maintains Personnel Master Data as needed.
  • Completes associate employment verification requests as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Operations Supervisor.

Education

Associates Degree or the 5 years of relatable payroll experience.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience administering payroll, preferably in a large manufacturing company.
  • 1-3 years using SAP, preferably SAP HCM including Payroll.
  • Technical and analytical skills demonstrated through business application.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Customer service experience.
  • SAP skills as proven through business application.
  • MS Office skills as proven through business application.
  • Garnishment rules and regulations
