San Diego Humane Society is hiring two Full-Time Spanish/English Bilingual Resource Center Associates for our San Diego campus!
Resource Center Associates will have the potential flexibility to work from home once on-site training is completed.
SUMMARY:
Resource Center Associates provide an exceptional guest experience and build relationships that Inspire Compassion. As the typical first point of contact for guests calling SDHS, Resource Center Associates are responsible for making sure guests feel important while ensuring the guest experience is exceptionally positive and professional. Resource Center Associates should be courteous and friendly, and should provide prompt responses to all guest questions and concerns.

+ Remain thoroughly up-to-date on procedures and happenings at SDHS in order to provide guests with accurate information.
+ Use proper phone etiquette at all times and transfer calls to other departments or SDHS campuses as needed.
+ Update guest and animal records in Shelter.

+ Operate telephone systems to manage and relay large amounts of inbound calls.
+ Follow communication procedures, policies, and guidelines during every guest interaction.
+ Identify guest needs, clarify information, research every issue and provide solutions and/or alternatives.
+ Use tactful judgment in rerouting calls to appropriate departments and teams.
+ Update internal databases with information as needed.
+ Maintain knowledge of procedures and guideline for emergency situations.
+ Follow approved procedures, policies, and operation guidelines.
+ Maintain a clean and organized workspace so that others can locate resources and products as needed.
+ Perform administrative duties such as data entry, operate multi-line phones, and maintain records as needed.
+ Assist other departments in all shelter programs, special events, and additional tasks as needed.
+ Provide guest support to the Guest Relations team. This includes calling guests back and scheduling appointments when assistance is needed.
+ Attend meetings and trainings as scheduled.
+ Regularly and predictably attend work in-person and as scheduled.
+ Wear clean uniform and name tag as assigned and conform to the dress code at all times during business hours. Exemplifies San Diego Humane Society's Core Values:

This is a non-exempt position that starts at a rate of $14.75 per hour. Salary is commensurate by experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, SKILL, EXPERIENCE: High School graduate or equivalent required.
Two years' experience in customer/guest services preferred, as well as excellent written and verbal English language communication skills. Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
MS Office Suit knowledge and POS experience and proficiency preferred.
Must have experience using multi-line phones, multi-tasking and one-year data entry experience.
Cash handling experience preferred.
Experience in animal sheltering and Shelter Buddy software is preferred. Knowledge of cat and dog breeds and basic animal behavior knowledge preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, grasp grip, put fingers together firmly and reach above and below shoulder level and lift, push or pull 50 pounds for situations of restraining or moving animals and lifting food and animal care supplies, repetitively use hands to operate computers; flex the neck upward and downward; twist the neck and the waist.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Standard office environment, with exposure to environmental conditions that include working near animals.
