Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

General Overview.
Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of electro-mechanical subassembly andassembly operations of a semi-skilled nature to build up and assemble difficult andcomplex units such as molding, casting of plastic assemblies, mixing ratios and measuringurethanes and epoxies, soldering, bonding and gluing mechanical assemblies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may beassigned. Tends machines that press, shape or mixes glues and urethanes. Adjust or trimsmaterials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensionalcharacteristics. Performs in-line inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meetproduction specifications and standards. Solders, assembles, disassembles, screws, bolts, glues, testing or performs similaroperations to join or secure parts in place.~Soldering and de-soldering of ceramic materials.
Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, orother holding device. Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding,cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color codingparts and assemblies.~ Assembly/disassembly and test of mechanical assemblies using both traditional andnon-traditional tooling such as calipers, micrometer, depth gauge, screwdriver,torque wrench, standard wrench, hammer, etc...Reads and follows reporting documentation/information:~Work Release Information~Engineering Change Order (ECO)~Written instructions regarding duties to be performed~Verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
Reads and follows assembly building documentation/information:~Production drawings (released, unreleased or obsolete)~Sample assemblies~Informal (hand drawn or unreleased) assembly drawings.

- Asks for and offers help when needed. Qualifications/RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill,and/or ability required. Requires a high school education or equivalent and 2-5 years closely relatedexperience.Must be able to demonstrate mechanical assembly and soldering proficiency. Must be able to read blueprints, Bill of Materials, mechanical drawings, writteninstructions and understand verbal instructions. Requires the ability to interpret drawings, and rework to assemblies. Basic computer skills (Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word) needed to perform the requiredduties, mixing ratios, soldering irons and basic hand tools. Requires ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, including ratios andfractions. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Exhibits a strong mechanical aptitude.
Understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices is a plus.
Language Skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables insituations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety ofinstructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer

Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to enter time and data into acomputer system. An individual may require knowledge of database software; inventorysoftware; manufacturing software; spreadsheet software and/or word processingsoftware. Position requires U.S. Person for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical DataITAR regulations dictate that information and material pertaining to defense and militaryrelated technologies may only be shared with US Persons unless authorization from the.
Department of State is received or a special exemption is used. Thisis a first shift position from 5 a.m
- 1:30 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch at around 9:30 a.m. and 2, 15-minute paid breaks.
